DIY: Tribal Pumpkins for Fall

September 28, 2015

Growing up I would always look forward to my family’s holiday traditions. When fall settled in, my mom would warm our house with the smells of the season. We would carve pumpkins for the front porch and make caramel apple lollipops with the apples we picked at a local orchard. My mom went to great lengths to make each season special, and looking back I really appreciate her efforts.

Thanks, mom! :)

Nowadays, I lack the motivation to decorate my own home. As a twenty-something seasonal decorating isn’t a priority. But, I still like to do a few small things to get into the holiday season. For fall, I decided to make easy no-carve pumpkins with DIY tribal patterns.

I bought white pumpkins at Whole Foods for $7.99, and I surfed the Internet for some tribal inspiration. I should have cut out stencils but since I lack patience, I went ahead and free handed the drawings with a ruler. I then went over my sketches with a metallic paint pen to finish it off.

How did they turn out? Comment below.
